Process from Abstract to Narrative

Through the practice of pareidolia, Vincent explores and transforms the patterns he discovers in his abstract acrylic paintings. The challenge lies in letting go of any perceived outcomes, and to fully trust his intuitive discoveries without judgement or control. His process is visually illustrated here with the creation of El Toro Rojo, a piece in Vincent’s new Animal Spirits collection.

Initially working in digital monochrome, he overlays and mirrors multiple abstracts together until he starts to visualize opportunities in the mix of patterns and shapes. He then adds color and renderings to document his stream-of-consciousness discoveries.
